Bathing Suit Trends For 2015

As the mother of a child with autism, I know just how hard it can be to find vitamins and other supplements for kids with sensory issues. I've spent many years experimenting with different types of products to find the ones that work for my son and, in the process, I've learned a lot. Knowing that I'm not the only one who must be struggling with this, I created this site to share my experiences and the outcome of our trial and error. I hope that the information here not only helps you feel less alone in the process but also makes it easier for you to find options that may work for your kids.

Bathing Suit Trends For 2015

If you are in need of a new bathing suit this year, it is always advised that you begin shopping for your suit early on in the season. This helps ensure you have a full selection of available prints, styles and sizes, which may be picked over the later you wait to buy. If you love fashion, you may be interested in learning what trends are expected to be big in swimwear. This information can help you select a trendy and stylish suit.

Single Shoulder Tops

Whether you are looking for a bikini or a one piece suit, one of the hottest trends this year is expected to be the single shoulder top. A single shoulder top is exactly what it sounds like—a top with a single strap around the shoulder area.

Unfortunately, not every single shoulder top is ideal for every type of body. Here are some tips that you should keep in mind if you are interested in this type of suit. It will help you select the one that is best fitted for your body.

  • If you have a larger chest, you will want to look for a single shoulder top that has a strap that wraps diagonally over the top of the body for full support.
  • If you are full-figured, you will want to avoid straps with embellishments, such as floral decorations. They add bulk, which can make you look larger.
  • If you have a thin frame, look for a thinner shoulder strap. A thick shoulder strap can add bulk and deter from the sexy look of this suit.

Micro Bikinis

If you are looking to show off the hot body you have worked hard for, you may be after a slinky bikini. It seems every year bikinis are getting smaller, and one of this year's trendiest bikinis certainly falls into this category. The bikini style that is trending for the 2015 swimsuit season is the micro bikini.

A micro bikini is one of the smallest swimsuits to hit the market. It barely covers your private areas, and nothing more. It is equivalent to g-string underwear and a thin bra that typically covers the nipples but not the entire breast.

Keep in mind that many public places are beginning to ban these types of suits. You may not be able to wear this type of swimsuit to your local beach or waterpark. However, if you have a pool in your backyard or are traveling to a more exotic destination, this type of bikini may be perfect for you.

Cut-Away Swimsuits

Cut-away dresses and sweaters have been one of the hottest clothing trends in 2014. And that trend is expected to carry into 2015 with cut-away swimsuits.

Cut-away swimsuits are one piece swimsuits with cuts made in them to reveal more skin. The cuts may be on the sides to expose the stomach, on the back to create a low back suit, or on the top half of the suit to enhance and show off cleavage.

Just like with single shoulder bathing suit tops, not every cut-away suit is right for every body type. Here are some tips to keep in mind as you shop for this type of suit:

  • If you are pear- or apple-shaped, avoid stomach cut-away suits. They highlight the largest part of your body, which is not flattering.  Instead, select a suit with cut-aways on the top of the suit to bring attention to your face.
  • If you are thin, look for a bondage inspired cut away design. Criss-cross styles show off your curves and emphasis the slimness of your figure.
  • If you are plus-sized, look for a suit with diagonal cuts. Diagonal cuts are flattering to fuller figures, as they create a slimming illusion.

It is not uncommon for people to put off buying a swimsuit until they see what types of suits other people are wearing. Unfortunately, by then, selection at the stores may be limited. Instead, take the time to research trends so you can buy your suit early in the season. In 2015, single should bathing suits, micro bikinis and cut-away swimsuits are all expected to be trendy.
